Tom's Tuesday Tip - Feb 13th

Trivia - Do you know who said “Sometimes it takes once act of kindness and caring to change a person’s LIFE!”

Question - Is it necessary to inform your home insurance about previous claims? What could happen if you don't disclose this information?

Answer - They will find out - disclosed or not. All insurance companies subscribe to C.L.U.E, reports (Comprehensive Loss Underwriting Exchange) where the claims will all show up. I once had an apartment building owner change insurance over to me and said he had 0 losses. Well 5 claims showed up but all with $0 paid out. When I asked him why there were 5 and he said “every time I called my agent, he told me to call the 1–800-claim number”. That is not a good agent, as 1–800-claims ALWAYS get reported to C.L.U.E.!
