Question - Will your homeowner insurance company need to see a permit for a renovated basement for it to be protected?

Answer - Insurance companies do NOT have to see any permits. They do have to see pictures and what to increase the dwelling amount to include the finished space. You also need to increase (or Add) water & sewer back up for that basement to have proper coverage.

Also add on underground utility or also called Service line coverage to your homeowners insurance.
